{The Bird Southern Table & Bar}

Was given the luxury of taste testing The Bird Southern Table and Bar Menu's w the boy ðŸ˜›
It was such a pleasant experience!
Both the atmosphere of the restaurant & the dishes served were A class.
Will be sharing a review on the dishes we were treated to today ðŸ˜Œ


The Bird Southern Table & Bar is located at B1 of Marina Bay sands.
It is a perfect combination of the southern cuisine & culture with specialty dishes such as 
Fried Chicken & Waffles!


We were greeted by their really friendly & easy-going manager, Scott, 
who gave us the best seats in the house ðŸ˜›
We were seated next to the kitchen where we get to see all the action!

Here's a little overview of what we will be ordering for the night:
(they were really kind to let us try dishes & cocktails that weren't in this menu)


❤️🤓 But first, 
a mandatory photo of us HAHAHAH



For starters, 
we were served with their Deviled Egg and Fried Green Tomato BLT.
The Deviled Egg has a very smooth and creamy texture which was the perf way 
to start up your appetite.
As for the Fried Green Tomato BLT,
I was really pleasantly surprised by how
good it was!
The house smoked pork belly was done so well that I had to resist from asking for seconds ðŸ˜¶
The meat was tender & the crispy tomato was a nice touch to it.


These starters were accompanied by their innovative cocktails!
Had so much fun with their Sub-Zero Floral Aviation. 
This cocktail was really light & easy to drink.
It comes with dry ice that was submerge in lavender water, creating a scented fog ðŸ˜
Def instagram worthy haha 


Marcus ordered the Watermelon Sling,
a refreshing drink with freshly pressed watermelon juice & White Whiskey.


Ended up with drinking both of the cocktails ðŸ™ˆ
Had to wait for what feels like forever to sink my fingers into the main course
cause Marcus was busy snapping away pictures on his DSLR.
This was me literally ðŸ‘‰ðŸ¤¤


Well, being the cheese lovers that we are,
we HAVE to try their Macaroni & Cheese ðŸ˜
& Boy, it did not disappoint!
It is created with five artisanal cheese, pasta & crispy herb crust.
Simply irresistible & the perfect comfort food!
Really liked it how the cheese melts in your mouth & it didn't have the "overload" kinda taste to it
like you sometimes get from eating too much cheese. 
Also, 
I was surprised by how big the serving size is. 
Wouldn't have been to finish this alone. 
Marcus loved this dish.
Think he polished off 2/3 of it on his own ðŸ˜†


& of course, we have to give their burger a go ðŸ˜›
Burgers are easy to make & they can be found everywhere
but a good burger is really hard to come by. 





They are definitely very generous with their portion size here!
A double patty burger with bacon &&&
IT WAS SOOOO GOOD!
The patty was done just that I love it to be (medium rare).
It was crispy on the outside & thick & juicy on the inside 😋
The smoked bacon also added a nice texture to the burger.
Gotta add how the patty wasn't one of those with lots of fatty area so was a major plus point from me!
No doubt one of the best I have tried thus far.

DRUM ROLL PLEASE 
It is time for me to introduce the last main course that we got the pleasure of sinking our teeth into!

Yeap, it's their signature dish & the crowd's favourite,
Chicken 'N' Watermelon 'N' Waffles (Lewellyn's Fine Fried Chicken)!


I mean, just look at it!
The chicken looks fineeeee ðŸ˜Ž
Needless to say, 
we were shocked at how it was a half a chicken's portion!
The batter was thin, not one of those thick doughy kinds (thankfully).
However, we were slightly disappointed as we thought there would something in the flavour that will make it really stand out from the other fried chickens.
Even though the waffles were fluffy on the insides,
they were not as crispy as I hope it would be. 
The watermelon on the side was an interesting touch to the dish. 
Def not something that you will find in the regular chicken & waffles. 

Cheers to a good meal ðŸ¸


Are you ready?
It's time for me to share bout the desserts of the night!
MY FAV COURSE ðŸ˜»
I am someone who always look at the dessert section of the menu 
before flapping to the main courses hahaha


I think the look of distress on our faces was evident so Scott was really kind to let us 
have our hands on on not just one but two dessert dishes!
We were having such a hard time deciding on the desserts cause everything sounds so good ðŸ˜¶
#glutton 

We settled with Scott's recommendations:
Salted Caramel Bread Pudding
Banana Pudding 


Bread puddings are my absolute fav dessert dish
& Mmmmmmm ðŸ¤¤
This is absolutely yummy!
The warm custard bread pudding is showered with whisky anglaise drag pecans & gooey salted caramel with chantilly cream on the side. 
It was so good that I could probably eat 2-3 of these in one seating!
The pudding was moist & the cream goes so well with it.
It was a really good combination.


Who wants a taste of it? ðŸ˜



Then, 
we were treated to their Banana Pudding!
This really pretty dessert came in a jar filled with rum-soaked banana cake & fresh bananas. 
It is topped with chantilly cream, crumble & vanilla wafers. 
A little too rich & creamy for my liking but I like the idea of how there are fresh bananas in the cake ðŸ˜‹

In a nutshell, 
I would say that the Fried Green Tomato BLT is worth a try.
It's one of those dishes where you can't gat anywhere else as 
the quality of it is really good!
The Burger was hands down my fav out of the all the main dishes.
There's def no doubt bout it! 
👍👍 Double thumbs up for the burger hehe
(Marcus reckons that the Mac & Cheese was the best outta the lot though)

As for the dessert, 
The bread pudding def stole my heart that night ðŸ™ˆ
It's a dish that I will def go back for!

Gotta add that Scott has been absolutely patient with us, 
describing how the dishes were made & what they consist of ðŸ˜Œ
Once again, a huge THANK YOU to the The Bird Southern Table & Bar for having us ðŸ™†
We truly enjoyed ourselves!
