{INFINI Acne Scar Treatment w Clifford Clinic}

Was really thrilled when Dr. Gerard Ee shared with me about
Infini Acne Scar Treatment
when I talked about how I am really bothered by the scars
on my cheeks.
It really gets to me cause there isn't anything that I can do to get rid of it.
(Unlike blackheads or pimples where I can just squeeze them out on my own...
that probably explains why I have acne scars :x )
Acne scars are those 'dents' / depressed acne scars on the skin's surface making it look like
there are a lot of 'enlarged holes' on your face (my definition HAHAHA).
These scars (usually caused by HUGE pimples) arises when there are a damage in the deeper layer of the skin's surface resulting in loss of tissue & collagen in the affected area.

As usual,
I have tonsssss of question & Dr. Ee was really patient with answering my questions &doubts.

Here were some of the concerns I had:
1. What is Infini Treatment
Infini is a Radiofrequency Microneedling treatment where the penetration depth is up
to 3.5mm below the skin.
This is why it is able to treat even deep acne scars.

2. How long is the down time
Dr. Ee reassured me that downtime for Infini is low,
about 3days with mild redness.
Was really relieved when I heard this cause my skin tends to take a longer period to recover
as compared to others.

3. Does it hurt
As y'all probably know by now,
I have very low pain threshold so the pain factor is always one of the top few concerns for me.
Dr. Ee mentioned that the pain should be mild to slightly painful (depends on individual)
& they will be applying numbing cream prior to the treatment.
YAY! Thank goodness for numbing cream haha

4. How many sessions are required to see results
Visibile results can be seen roughly one month after the first treatment.
Results will continue to improve up to 3 months.
The number of sessions needed is dependent on the condition of the individual's skin.

5. Any precautions for post-treatment
They mentioned that I will need to avoid sunlight for the next 3days or so to prevent
pigmentation & the skin is more sensitive after the treatment.

6. Is the treatment permanent
It helps to stimulate productive of collagen in the deeper layer,
making use of the body's ability to recover & restore.
With Infini, the scars will be remodelled & the only way this is possible is by
stimulating the skin to remove old scar tissue & create new, healthy & organised collagen fibres.

Hookayy, time to share bout my personal experience w the Infini treatment by Clifford Clinic!

There are 2 diff entrances to the clinic.
My first thought when I saw the clinic was that it looks really professional
& welcoming.

There are comfortable sitting areas & the decorations were simple & sophisticated.

After filling in the forms,
I was asked to cleanse my face before they apply the numbing cream.

They applied two layers of numbing cream on my face
(which I am really thankful for cause I do not have god tolerance for pain :x).

Had a short consultation with Dr. Ee about my concerns
& my skin before we move on to the treatment.
Below's the machine that he will be using to treat my skin.
He will be able to control the length of depth that the needles will be
penetrating my skin w this :o

& here's the 49-needle tip that Dr. Ee will be using.
(Can you just imagine me panicking inside rn? HAHAHA)

The needles have a variable depth of 0.5 to 3.5mm to treat different depth of acne scars.
To ensure hygiene,
each needle tip is disposal & a new one will be used for each treatment.

Depending on the severely of the scars,
Dr. Ee may also inject local anesthesias on top of the numbing cream.
He informed me that my skin did not require anesthesia as it not a very serious case
that we can proceed straightaway.

Dr. Ee focused mainly at the area around the scars.
He performed about 4 rounds over the damaged areas,
using different needle depths at different areas.

The nurse helped to wipe away little spots of blood in between each rounds.
Slight bleeding is normal at the treated area is normal.
This treatment took only about 15 minutes.

Was prescribed a tub of Foban Cream which is an antibiotic while helps to soothe
& cool the treated area.

Here's how my skin looked like with a layer of numbing cream on:

You can see the scars are at a concentrated area on my right cheek.
I felt a slight, tingly, burning sensation at the treated area after the treatment
& this lasted for about an hour or so.

The area was a bit swollen & red post treatment but it subsided throughout the day.

Pain factor?
6.5/10
HAHAHA ok, honestly, it was pretty painful for me.
i have low threshold for pain & a few drops of tears did roll down my eyes.
It felt like tiny needles are poking the skin.
However,
it wasn't unbearable to the point where I had to get them to stop the procedure.
My tactic to countering the pain is to take deep breathes
& focus on breathing instead of the pain :p

Are y'all ready for the after pic?
:]
Noticed that the scars aren't as deep as before &
the right side of my skin looks smoother & more even.

Overall,
it was an interesting experience for me & I am happy to see results from the treatment.

Until next time!
xx
